My trip to St Kitts was one of my highlights of 2016. As 2017 is already shaping up to be a great year to visit the island, it’s time to check out some of the amazing events taking place.
As my time as an ambassador for the Caribbean island of St Kitts is almost up, I couldn’t help but look ahead to what’s happening on the island next year. Whether you’re planning a holiday or arriving by cruise ship, there are a few times of year that are extra special on the island. From the annual music and restaurant festivals, to big openings, there are more reasons than ever to take a trip.

Every June the island comes alive as music stars jet in for the St Kitts Music Festival. Staying true to the island’s roots, it features a mix of R&B, reggae, hip-hop, calypso and jazz, with Dionne Warwick, Lionel Richie and Jason Derulo performing over the years. In 2016, crowds went wild for 50 Cent, Damian Marley and The O’Jays. No doubt 2017’s line up will be bigger and better!
Arriving in St Kitts by cruise ship? You’ll definitely want to hop off and explore . From scenic railways and zip-lining to the island’s history – there’s tonnes to see and do on THIS Caribbean gem!
Earlier this year I was lucky enough to spend a full week on the magical island of St Kitts. I ate (lots), snorkelled, zip-lined, explored the island’s history and drank buckets full of rum punch. I know that many of you visit as cruise ship passengers and only have a few hours to explore, but believe me – it’s definitely somewhere you’ll want to see more of. When it comes to adventures, St Kitts is a paradise adventure playground!
I visited the Caribbean island earlier this year for a week of fun-fuelled travels. From zip-lining through the rainforest, kayaking and swimming with turtles, to exploring old plantations, forts and checking out the top-notch foodie scene… WOW there was PLENTY to enjoy! Oh, and then the small matter of the endless rum punch on the island! Well it’d be rude not to try it…

Oh and for the best viewing experience, be sure to shake up a rum punch to enjoy with it…
Open seasonally, Arthur’s sits on the shore of Dieppe Bay. Part of the Belle Mont Farm family, the white beach shack is decorated in a sophisticated way, and offers front row seats for watching the fisherman bring in their catch of the day! It’s described as a ‘sea to fork restaurant’ so expect mahi mahi, grouper, snapper, ceviche, conch and lobster on the menu. Try to save room for the delicious pumpkin fritters served with spiced pumpkin ice cream and a rich caramel sauce!
Rosey Cameron and her family set up a unique art-gallery-come-café on the main square in Basseterre. After visiting in 1977, Rosey fell in love with the island and never left. She gives a flavour of life on St Kitts through her colourful artworks, while her daughter Leah bakes delicious fresh bagels, cakes, frittatas and cookies. It’s a winning combination and a wonderful place to relax for a few hours. Continue reading Top Restaurants In St Kitts→
