From visiting fairy-tale towns to adrenaline-fuelled adventures at one of Europe’s best theme parks, it’s time to find out the best things to do in the Black Forest In Germany in summer.
Germany’s Black Forest and surrounding areas offer beautiful landscapes, highs of 25 degrees, fairy-tale towns and one of Europe’s best theme parks. I’ll admit, I’ve never started planning a summer holiday and thought “let’s go to Germany”. Yet, when I was invited to explore the south-west of the country, I was pleasantly surprised!
Considering booking a Helsinki food tour? Find out what to expect, the kind of foods you’ll sample and more about why it’s a great way to see the city.
I’ve said it time and time again on this blog, but my favourite way to get to know a new place? Straight through my stomach! So what better way to understand what makes Helsinki tick than on whistle-stop tour of some culinary hotspots on Heather’s Helsinki Fork In Hand food tour?
We met our Helsinki food tour guide Heather under the Stockmann clock in the centre of the city. Heather’s not a native. Originally from Tasmania, Australia, she’s lived in Helsinki for 15 years. In some ways seeing the city through the eyes of someone who had moved there gave us a better understanding of its quirks. Rather than growing up with them, she’s experienced them as a newbie – making them easier to identify.

Find out more about the food, menu and prices at Michelin starred chef Daniel Boulud’s London restaurant, in this review of Bar Boulud, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park.
Daniel Boulud may have two Michelin stars at his stateside restaurant, but even for me, jetting to NYC for lunch felt a little extravagant… So I popped along to Bar Boulud at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park to check out his London base.
When I had the opportunity to visit Bar Boulud at the Mandarin Oriental for lunch last week, I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. One of my sisters happened to be visiting from Sweden and was more than happy to be my date. It was shaping up to be the perfect girly catch up!
We entered Bar Boulud, passed the long sophisticated bar and took our seats in the heart of the buzzy dining room. Service was friendly and it wasn’t long before we were deliberating wine options while simultaneous eyeing up every plate that appeared from the kitchen. Sky-high burgers, colourful tapas and delicious seafood aromas breezed past us, causing us to change our minds several times!
