It’s really hard to choose my favourite, but I think it has to be Indonesia! I was there for six weeks and fell head over heels for this incredible country. I loved everything; people, the food, and the stunning landscapes – not to mention the epic animal encounters I had, including swimming with manta rays and getting up close to some wild komodo dragons!

Our trip to the Yaeyama Islands in Japan has to be the highlight of 2016. They are tropical paradises with great beaches, delicious food and friendly locals. Plus, hardly anybody knows about them. (yet!)

This year has been full of bucket list ticks and whilst the Balkans was close, road tripping Oman in a 4WD was my favourite trip of the year. I can’t think of many countries you can see turtles hatching on a beach for sunrise and be walking through a desert surrounded by Camels for sunset. Oman really surprised me, from how hospitable and welcoming the people were through to the insanely beautiful natural Wadi pools that litter this perfect slice of Arabia. Throw any preconceptions you might have of the Middle East out I promise Oman will amaze you.

It’s so hard to choose, but I think if pushed I’d have to go for the Maldives because it had been on my bucket list for so long. It’s like walking around in a, beautiful Pinterest board. Close seconds would be Bali and California with TrekAmerica.

Without a doubt my favourite trip of 2016 was to Greenland. I had such high expectations of Greenland – it was a real bucket list country for me – and it surpassed all of those expectations in every single way. I can genuinely say that I’ve never been anywhere with so much raw natural beauty, and every day I found myself saying “wow, I can’t believe how lucky I am to be here.”

Suzanne from The Travel Bunny
My top trip of 2016 was an epic adventure to Peru and spending a few days staying in a treehouse 67ft up a tree in the Amazon Jungle. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle and looking out into the trees spotting monkeys and exotic birds was something I won’t forget in a hurry. Days were spent paddling up river, searching for pink dolphins, sloth, iguanas and other jungle wildlife.

Scott from Intrepid Escape
Watching Sea Turtles hatch and make their way to the Ocean, Costa Rica. It’s been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember, and at the protected Tortuguero in Costa Rica, it happened. We were up at 4:30am, you needed to be otherwise you’d miss them. I remember as we stood watching these little guys, fighting for their lives, following their instincts towards the sea, it was an emotional experience, and I’d suggest everyone to do it here at Tortuguero National Park, where there is more wildlife to see than anywhere else I’ve been so far.

I’ve been on so many adventures in 2016 it was hard to choose. My trip to see the Komodo Dragons in Indonesia was amazing – but my trip to Lapland in Autumn just pips it to the post. I saw the northern lights and really found myself in the beautiful countryside of Finland.

My favourite trip was going to Austin in Texas for SXSW Festival. It was my travel dream, I met loads of awesome people, saw some cool bands, watched amazingly inspirational people and just absolutely loved the city. It definitely lived up to the hype.
