Escape the crowds in Orlando and Miami and head to Martin County – the REAL Florida.
For many, holidays in Florida are focused on two things: theme parks and beaches. With warm weather pretty much guaranteed, the state receives planeloads of tourists every week. But beyond Orlando’s adrenaline rides, Miami’s nightlife and the idyllic beaches of the Keys… what else is there?
Well, around two hours north of Miami is Martin County. With miles of untouched Atlantic beaches, nature, plenty of art and culture, incredible wildlife, top places to eat and fun activities for all the family, it really is a great holiday destination. With Stuart (the heartbeat to the region) being voted America’s Happiest Seaside Town, I couldn’t wait to find out what made it so special.

My pick of Camden’s best restaurants and bars for 2017.
One of my favourite things about Camden is its food scene. It’s certainly never dull! From egg porn brunches to exotic cocktails, street food and mesmerising ice cream, I’ve eaten my way around Camden all in the name of research. So whether you’re looking for an awesome Sunday roast, Camden’s best curry house or just need to grab a quick coffee to start your day, enjoy my guide to Camden’s hottest food and drink spots.
I’ll admit this was a tough category to judge! Camden has some great brunch spots, with special mentions going to The Blues Kitchen (for when you need a big feed) and Made Bar and Kitchen at the Roundhouse. But for the best coffee in Camden, Instagram-worthy egg porn and delicious smashed avo on toast, head to Leyas.
The Balé in Nusa Dua, Bali is smart, relaxing and oozes luxury. It’s the perfect hotel for that special ‘treat’ or romantic getaway.
With 29 chic private pavilions, a wonderful spa, gym, two great dining options, and an enormous double infinity pool, it’s no wonder The Balé is one of the top hotels in Nusa Dua. The adults-only resort doesn’t really carry that ‘resort’ vibe. In fact, in the days I stayed, I barely saw any other guests, yet I knew they were there! Crossing paths at breakfast, many of us were so attached to our stunning private pools and rooms that we spent the majority of our time there.
The Artichoke has consistently been rated as the best restaurant in the Amersham area. After an impressive experience in January, I couldn’t wait to sample their autumn menu.
Amersham’s old town offers a range of dining options. Along with upmarket coffee house The Grocer, chain restaurants Cote, Prezzo and Ask, and several historic pubs, there’s a gourmet neighbourhood offering – The Artichoke.
Chef Patron Laurie Gear and his wife Jacqueline opened the Artichoke in 2002. The restaurant focuses on high quality, beautifully presented seasonal dishes, served with a dash of magic. I visited on a weekday evening to sample the seven-course autumnal tasting menu (with wine pairings). But first… a glass of rosé champagne to kick off a very special dining experience.
