World's Best Beach Hidden Beach

Time to check out the 9 best beaches in the world!

Paradise… where would you say it is?  While everyone will have their own personal paradise, there are plenty of places on the planet that I’m sure we can all agree on. While I’ve been lucky enough to tick off a few, there are plenty more still waiting to be explored. Time to check out 9 of the world’s most amazing beaches.

1. Whitehaven Beach, Whitsundays, Australia

2. Bioluminescence Beaches, The Maldives

This glowing phenomenon is caused by microscopic organisms called bioluminescent phytoplankton. The microorganisms glow when stressed. I’ve seen glow worms, but these glow waves are a whole other phenomenon! plankton bioluminescence maldives kuredu

I was lucky enough to visit the Isla Mujeres last year, and wow are these islands beautiful. The water is crystal clear, and there are plenty of tropical fish to see once you’ve got a snorkel on.

Visiting Helsinki, Finland

Helsinki Bikes

Find out what it’s really like to visit Helsinki in Finland.

A very grand overnight cruise transported our Busabout group from Stockholm to Helsinki. 41 EUR gained us a two-hour feast in the Grand Buffet (including wine). We gorged on everything from smoked salmon, to roast beef to chocolate mousse! Delicious! After dinner, we checked out the on-board entertainment, before dancing the night away in the nightclub!

Check out Part 2 of the video of my Scandi-Baltic Adventure now, and scroll down to read all about my time in Helsinki.

On arrival in Helsinki there were a few sore heads, but with little over 24 hours there, we were all keen to explore the city.

Being so fond of Stockholm, I expected to love Helsinki too, but it had a very different vibe. As most of the city burned down in 1801, it was redesigned from scratch in a Neo-Classical style – full of big boulevards and grand buildings.

One of my favourite discoveries was Signora Delizia – a cute Italian café in Katajanokka, just around the corner from Moomin creator Tove Jansson’s childhood home. It used to be a tobacco store, and was full of quirky charm, plus the coffee was excellent.

A Day Trip From Split To Krka National Park, Croatia

Day trip from Split to Krka National Park

Natural beauty, stunning waterfalls, and you can swim there too – Find out all you need to know about travelling from Split to Krka National Park in Croatia.

Here I was with a BIG dilemma. I only had one day free in Croatia, and couldn’t decide whether to book a tour from Split to Krka National Park or Plitvice Lakes? They both looked like incredible places – but I only had time for one…

In the end, I went for the Split to Krka tour. I’ll admit it was partly because the journey time was shorter! The tour would take me to see the famous waterfalls, the amazing panoramic view of Visovac Monastery, and then stop in the city of Šibenik to see the UNESCO Cathedral. Plus, it included a lunch of some delicious, local Dalmatian food.

Day Trip From Split To Krka National Park

Leaving Split at around 8am, it takes a few hours to drive to the entrance to Krka National Park. However, with a chatty tour guide outlining the history of Croatia, and telling anecdotes about everything from wine production to his wife being a beautician, the time flew by!

The views from the window of the coach were mind-blowing. Towns of red-roofed houses perched above the Adriatic Sea. Early morning swimmers taking a refreshing dip, while luxury yachts manoeuvred the coastline.

As we reached the national park we saw huge sweeping canyons, topped with thick green forests. At the bottom was mysteriously calm water. As we followed the River Krka, the water changed from a dark shade of blue to a vivid green. I’d never seen anything like it.
