Barcelona’s Top New Restaurants For 2017

Barcelona

Barcelona’s top new restaurants for 2017 include three-Michelin-starred dining, a culinary amusement park and an eatery by one of the world’s most famous footballers.

Recently I wrote about the top food experiences worth travelling the world for. Topping that list was a restaurant called Disfrutar in Barcelona – a place where I believe I’ve eaten two of the best meals of my life! But does it face competition? New restaurants are popping up in the city all the time. With plenty of great new openings for 2017, perhaps it’s time I returned to eat my way around the city!

So whether you’re looking for high-end gourmet creations, a casual bite to eat, or something a little bit quirky, here are Barcelona’s top new restaurants for 2017.

Frequent Travellers And Wow Moments: The Lowdown!

Taking in the incredible view of sunrise from Mount Batur, Bali

When we see surprising, wondrous, beautiful places around the globe day in day out, are we ultimately harder to impress?

I don’t want to sound ungrateful, because, well, I’m not! I travel for work and I travel for passion. I set up this blog to share my adventures with the hope that one day it would inspire others, all while allowing me to see more of the world.

Somehow a lot of hard work later, da dah! It worked. On Friday I returned from 12 days in Hawaii and right now I’m on board a flight to New York.

It made me think though…. now my travel dreams have seemingly merged with my day job, is it possible to maintain a level of excitement about travelling to new places?Chloe - Split Croatia

We travel, we eat, we travel some more. Sometimes though, we travel specifically to eat! We excite our taste buds with new flavours, learn about spices, herbs and unique cooking techniques. We return home with photos not just of stunning landscapes, but also beautifully presented plates of food.

While I’m just as happy in a buzzy food market as in a Michelin starred restaurant, there are a few meals from my travels that would make me hop straight back on the next plane…

Disfrutar

Location: Barcelona, Spain

Without a doubt, this is my favourite restaurant in the world! Dishes are creative, colourful, and served with a touch of magic. Things aren’t always what they seem, whether that’s an exploding liquid-filled olive or ceviche transformed into ice cream. Service is attentive but relaxed and the buzz of the open kitchen spreads throughout the dining area. Two visits and one Michelin star later, I’m already contemplating returning for a third time.
